🎯 Project Goal

To enable creators on ShareChat to promote their posts for better reach and profile growth—while simultaneously building a sustainable revenue stream for the platform.

📌 The Problem

Creators lacked visibility tools to grow organically. At the same time, ShareChat needed a revenue stream from the creator economy that didn’t rely solely on brand campaigns or external ads.

💡 The Solution: Boost Feature

We launched SC Boost, a seamless in-app feature that lets creators choose posts to promote and gain guaranteed views for a fixed cost. This initiative was aimed at:

  • Increasing creator visibility and satisfaction

  • Unlocking a self-serve monetization model

  • Improving platform engagement and loyalty

    Creators can select from pre-set view packages like:

    • 5,000 views for ₹99

    • 10,000 views for ₹199

    • 20,000 views for ₹399
      (Up to 50K–150K+ views per package)

  • Guaranteed Reach
    Transparency around deliverables (no vague impressions—only views)

  • Simple Checkout Experience
    Payments supported via UPI, cards, and net banking with faster processing and refund flows

  • Boost Insights Dashboard
    Real-time view of engagement impact:

    • +4.5K views

    • +293 likes

    • +45 shares

    • +352 profile visits

    • +8 new followers

📊 Key Results So Far

  • Revenue Generated: ₹40+ Lakhs

  • Views Boosted (Cumulative): 5.8+ Lakh

  • Boost insights and homepage entry points increased feature adoption significantly.

📦 Phase 2: Targeted Boosting (Coming Soon)

The next version includes target audience selection, allowing creators to:

  • Choose gender, age group, and location

  • Increase ROI by reaching relevant audiences

  • Provide advertisers with more precision
    This is expected to drive higher conversion and revenue.

🔧 What We Improved

  • Checkout friction was reduced by:

    • Introducing UPI intent-based flow

    • Optimizing refund and boost status screens

    • Adding error handling for failed payments

  • New Entry Points:
    Access Boost from trending cards, trophies section, or likers list for discoverability.

🧠 Learnings & Impact

  • User Motivation: Creators are ready to invest in visibility when results are transparent and quick.

  • Business Value: SC Boost established a self-serve monetization loop, reducing reliance on manual ops or sponsored campaigns.

  • UX Focus: Simple steps, gamified cards, and progress clarity were key drivers of success.
